I've been doing a lot of research recently with a view to a future business, looking at ethically grown flowers like fair trade, organic flowers grown without the use of pesticides and fertilizers containing nasties, and locally grown British flowers which do not need to be delivered via air freight - reducing the harm caused to the environment.
While this is all well and good, I dont know if its a concern for most people, especially at the moment with the old crunch.
If anyone feels inclined to do so, it would be very helpful if you could take my questionnaire - there are six questions so it wont take more than a minute :)

I found a cool project on one of my friends ljs today (Kissy book). I havent updated in ages, mostly due to being out and about in Glasgow. I've been doing more and more trips on the bike, and I've been very much enjoying the fresh air, but less so the horizontal rain. This has taught me two things, firstly that I really need to invest in a waterproof mascara and some contact lenses, and secondly that my brakes don't work when its wet. There have been a few slightly undignified stops on wet hills using my feet....and I've narrowly evaided crashing too. Incidentally if anyone knows any cheap but wet proof brakes I could get, suggestions would be good.
In the flat we are having our bathroom ceiling redone, as we came in one day to find a large hole and lots of dust on the floor....other than that its all been very relaxed, we started going out as a flat group more, including on Friday to JumbleSale Soundsystem at the Art School. Unfortunately I ended up going home early as I was working the next morning. Its actually been about a month since I've been out, or drunk anything for that matter. This will, however be remedied tonight as I'm meeting
lazzurs and his friend Nicola after the NIN gig to go to the Cathouse. I don't know if the music will be any good, but we will probably be merry enough not to care by that point.
In other news, I'm still applying for jobs right now. I'm thinking of applying for a care assistant job, but its a pretty big commitment and I'm not sure if I'd like it or not. I really want to do dome sort of positive and non office work though, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy it if I get the post. My digial camera is still refusing to work, so still no photos just yet, but I do have a print film on its way. I always like the surprise you get with the photos you had forgotten were on the film :)
Well, its off to work now, ttfn x

Well, I've finally got access to the internet again. Unfortunately my computer had got to the stage where I was getting BSODs every time I tried to do anything with it, and also red warning messages at startup. Not good. So I decided it was back up and wipe clean time. This took a bit longer than anticipated. And I still cant get my digital camera to work. It recognised it as new hardware, then told me that it didnt have the appropriate drivers to make it work, despite the fact that I had already installed the camera software that came with it. GRRRRR!
I hate my computer, I just want it to work properly. I would like someone to magically donate me a shiny new one.....
As soon as I can get the damn thing to work, pictures of the following will follow:
New hair (cut and dyed)
Lots of things for ebay
Various shenanigans that have been going on.

On returning home from dinner last night (we went out to a restaurent) we saw a racoon crossing the road and going under the hedge into our garden. Nothing much unusual here, as we have a pond in the front garden which the racoons and local cats like to drink from. Then we see another racoon, and another, and then two more follow the rest under our hedge. So we wait for them to come out, because apparently they can be pretty nasty when cornered. A minute later four more racoons come diving across the road and dissappear under our hedge! They make really funky noises too, little squeaks and grunting noises, and it was getting pretty noisy behind the hedge, when suddenly they all burst out one after another and start having this massive scrap in the middle of the road, oncoming cars and all! And then there was racoon humping, lots of racoon humping, with an even noisier sountrack than before. I was trying to take a picture but it was way too dark to get a decent image. That made my day, seeing about eight or ten racoons in one go and hearing them - they are so cool! Slightly scary on the enforced humping though!

I am loving the emo music way to much for my own good at the moment. Its like a drug addiction, that sickly sweet pain in phonic form. It makes you happy to know that someone else feels the same miserable way as you, except you arent really miserable. Like The Used say "I'll be just fine pretending I'm not, I'm far from lonely and its all that I've got." Oh dear oh dear, shoot me now. </3 </3 </3

We finally have internet again in our flat! Horray! Its been TOO LONG! Well, Glasgow is good. I have one great job and one hellhole-mother-of-shite job, but they balance out ok. I've been to a few gigs, the most recent being Opeth last night which was amazing beyond words. I had a little too much cider and was slightly wobbly, but a good time was had by all. I'm off to see the living end on friday too which I'm very excited about :)
Unfortunately its time to start thinking about christmas presents so i'm off to make a list while I can still afford to buy things for people.

I've been feeling very "emo" recently, but thanks to having no internet connection at home everyone will be spared from my rants about how shite my flatmates are being again. To put it shortly, I just feel uncomfortable ebing in my own flat. So instead I've been spending time at my friend's Cara and Nye's place, or hanging out with
lazzurs in the bubble in Falkirk. TBH, anywhere with a sofa (a luxury for me) and fluffy cute animals is all good by me rather than my cold, sofa-less, pet-less flat.
So I've just been packing up all my belongings, and trying to jetison some (more) stuff. The ebaying was not altogether unsuccessful, I sold 13 out of 18 things, but I still have another big pile to get rid of when I get to Glasgow!
In good news, I got a phone call today from the CCA in Glasgow (one of the art galleries) asking me to come in for an interview tommorow! This is a good thing, as I was starting to despair mightily on the job hunting front. I just find it so god damn soul destroying giving your CV out to tons of people and then not usually ever hearing from them again.
I went to see Clerks II last night with
lazzurs and Mr. Scott, it was all good, pretty typical cheesey fare, but all good. And it had some nice original Clerks in-jokes too :D
Actually I went to see Children of Men and Little miss Sunshine last week too. I'd recommend both, Children of men is thought provoking and beautiful, although it portrays a thoroughly depressing vision of the future, so dont go and see it if you are feeling down. Little miss Sunshine is hilarious and moving, more of a girlie flick I guess, but good for guys too. Its about a fat child beauty queen and her family, which sounds awful, but its good.
Other than that I've just been checking in with my new flatmates (Lindsay, Dave and Russel) every so often by text. We have established that the rent is so ceap (£213/month for a NICE place) as the flat is technically in new jersey and is also party to a secret freaky sex cult. And there may also be zombies living in the cupboard under the stairs. I think its going to be fun there :)

Well, as I didnt find my lost phone, I got a new one. Could everyone do me a massive favour and text me so I have your numbers again! I got my old number transfered so I dont have to worry about learning a new one. If you dont have my number but would like it, just email me.
Other things. I'm selling stuff on ebay, lots of it. Put up seven items today, more going up later. The moving stuff is going well, I have a flat now so that bit of the panic is over. Now all I have to do is get rid of all my extra stuff. I took another two bin bags to the charity shop today, so feeling quite cleared out at the moment. I havent got a job yet but i've been applying right left and centre.
I lost two days in a bubble in Falkirk over the weekend with
lazzurs which was fun. We watched loads of films, and quite a bit of the mighty boosh and ate our own bodyweight in food, most of which was purchased when we had the munchies, in a VERY brightly lit tesco. And also I got to play with
lazzurs two very cute kittens, lucy and fur (put the two names together and what do you get....?)
Onwards to dinner....which is vegie shepherds pie (i wonder if it tastes good).....

I stupidly dropped my phone last night in or around the Opium Subway area at about 3am. If anyone has it, or knows if someone else picked it up, I'd be very grateful if I could have it back. Its a pale blue nokia (quite old) and I think the first name in the phone book is Adam. The last place I remember having the phone is on the dance floor in Opium. Any info would be much appreciated. There will be a reward for its return, probably in the shape of pie, or beer, or something similar! My number is in the phone under "Flat". Thanks!
Damn my stupidity! I really feel lost without my phone, its got all my contacts in it!

The new lj styles are clearly some of the most amazing things in the world! (I get excited by pretty things) I couldn't decide which one to go for so I might have to change them quite often! I had to stop myself from looking at these when I was in the UK because I knew I'd have too much time on my hands in the land of Canadia....so here I am, awake far too early due to body clock adjustment, playing with lj themes.....aaaaah its a beautiful morning (in my journal).
Gonna go to Main street today, its got loads of really cool shops, including one which I MUST NOT spend money in. I will be on the lookout for a pair of new shoes though, as I have birthday money to burn.....ooooh pretty shoes, come to Sophie!
